The Benedictine Abbey of Göttweig

The Benedictine Abbey of Göttweig towers 429 meters above sea level on the eastern edge of the Wachau. You can visit the Kaiserstiege - the largest Baroque staircase in Austria - as well as the exhibition in the baroque staterooms. Following this, enjoy some fantastic views of the Wachau. A walk around the monastery complex and/or the excavated site of the Georgskirche church at Predigtstuhl will reward you with breath-taking views.
